About This Stock Investment Calculator

How Much Would I Have is a free stock investment calculator that lets you see what any investment would be worth today. Enter any stock ticker, ETF, index fund, cryptocurrency, or commodity ETF along with a dollar amount and purchase date. The calculator shows your total return including dividends, stock splits, and real drawdowns you would have experienced — plus a side-by-side comparison against the S&P 500.

See the complete history of any stock including IPO date, historical price, dividends paid, stock splits, major drawdowns, and best and worst performing days. Calculate your annual return and see if you beat the S&P 500 index.

Enter any stock ticker, ETF, or cryptocurrency, along with a dollar amount and purchase date. The calculator fetches historical price data and shows what your investment would be worth today, including stock splits, dividends, and real drawdowns you would have experienced.
All price and dividend data comes from Yahoo Finance. While we strive for accuracy, historical data may contain gaps or adjustments. This tool is for informational purposes only and should not be used as the sole basis for investment decisions.
When "Reinvest Dividends" is unchecked, dividends are collected as cash and added to your total return separately. When checked, each dividend payment is used to buy additional shares at that day's price, compounding your returns over time.
Stock splits are automatically accounted for. Yahoo Finance provides split-adjusted historical prices, so your share count and returns reflect all splits that occurred during the holding period.
A drawdown measures the decline from a peak value to a trough. The calculator shows every drawdown greater than 30% and 50%, plus the single worst drawdown. This helps you understand whether you could have emotionally held through the volatility.
The S&P 500 comparison uses SPY, which began trading in January 1993. If your purchase date is before SPY existed, the comparison is not available because it wouldn't be a fair apples-to-apples measurement.
Yes. Use the Crypto dropdown or type the Yahoo Finance ticker directly, which follows the format BTC-USD, ETH-USD, SOL-USD, etc.
Yes. ETFs like SPY, QQQ, and GLD work just like stocks. Use the dropdowns to browse indices, sector ETFs, commodities, and fixed income ETFs.
Yes. International stocks on Yahoo Finance typically use the ticker followed by a dot and the exchange code. For example, Toyota on the Tokyo exchange is 7203.T, Samsung on Korea is 005930.KS, Nestle on Switzerland is NESN.SW, and Shell on London is SHEL.L. You can find the exact ticker by searching for the company on Yahoo Finance and using the symbol shown there.
